About Me

Hi! I'm Diana and I am a professional longarm quilter. I use my HandiQuilter Avanté (fondly named Peggy) to do freehand quilting on quilts of all sizes. I have a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater design and production - specifically stage management and I was lucky enough to work professionally in New York City and in regional theaters across the country for over 10 years. Ever since I was little, I've always had a creative streak and a need to create things! I no longer spend my time backstage, instead opting to work in guest services at an amazing performing arts facility in downtown Orlando. I work mostly evenings and weekends which allows me to focus on quilting during the day. It's the perfect balance of work and home.

My mother taught me to sew when I was little, and I also had to learn costume construction in college but I didn't start quilting until 2012. My favorite part of quiltmaking has always been the actual quilting part and even on my domestic machine I jumped right in with freemotion quilting. From there things moved quickly. I started using a friend's longarm in 2016 and purchased my own in 2017. I look forward to helping others finish their quilts.

  1. I just read the story about the special Brown Bear Quilt. I am an early intervention case manager and am amazed by the special preschool teachers that I send my 3 year olds off to at work. I wish you and your family the very best.

  2. Diana, it's so nice to "meet" you AND your redheaded life! From one redhead to another, happy quilting!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I love hearing from my readers. I typically respond directly to your email unless it's an answer that I think everyone would be interested in hearing. If you are a no-reply blogger (and I know that blogger does not play nice with other blogging platforms!), I will reply directly on my website. Thanks for stopping by!
