Plaid Picnic Crib Quilt
Even though school is out and the summer break is in full swing, I'm still making sewing a priority. Do I manage it every day? No, but when I do get in my sewing room I make the time count. I'm really trying to get some of my WIPs finished up and really want to start one of the scrap projects from Kelly Young's book Stash Statement.
I finished this little project almost 2 weeks ago:
It was made from blocks that I started for the Quilters Planner 2016 Quilt Along but I never finished them. I guess the saying "Finished Is Better than Perfect" really is true in this case. Adding the borders to the blocks made it big enough for crib size and it was a really fast finish quilting an all-over loopy meander. Now the big question is... who's having a baby boy soon?

This is a great quilt Diana! I know the feeling with too many WIPs and the call of a new project is often irresistible!
ReplyDeleteIt really looks like plaid! Yes, finished is better.
ReplyDeletethe one thing about life is, there is always a baby coming along somewhere, sometime. Great wee quilt
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute and the quilting is perfect! I have had two baby boy quilts just hanging out for a year -- every baby born in our circles lately have been girls -- but that could change anytime since we are waiting on news from my husbands former boss. And ditto on the Stash Statement quilts -- I made one for the hop and am having a hard time resisting making another. :D
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautifully, Diana! I'm glad you are still finding time to carve out for quilting. It does get harder in the summer, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm sure a baby boy in the future will feel right at home!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely, and perfect for a baby. Don't worry. Someone will suprise you with an announcement soon.
ReplyDeleteI used the finished is better than perfect saying for a recent college assignment. Yes, quilting lessons translated into the 'real' world!
Finishing something feels good, especially when it's that cute! It's a perfect crib quilt.
